主题：Natural Language Processing for Text Analysis and Analogy with Image Analysis. A step towards Big Data Analysis
内容简介：With the emergence of social media and online documentation together with many governmental Open access policies and smart cities initiatives, users are often overwhelmed by a massive amount of information that creates a lot of ambiguity and uncertainty. This calls for efficient tools and methodology in order to filter out unnecessary information and identify user's interest only. This talk reviews existing practices and challenges in text analysis and retrieval while building a bridge to other multimedia dataset like images and videos for illustration purpose. Issues related to data representation, indexing, query expansion, semantics, disambiguation and visualization will be emphasized and contrasted with their images or video counterparts. Finally, we will highlight some of our ongoing projects in text summarization, social media analysis, intelligence gathering and community analysis in both open domains and medical fields.
